Building Relationships

My most cherished childhood memories were made in Fircrest, Washington.

My Dad was in the Air Force so we moved often, but we always took time to visit family here. I spent summer days with cousins exploring the neighborhoods, parks, community center and pool. This is where fun happened and we always felt welcomed and safe.

When my Dad retired, we settled in the area. I moved to Fircrest with my husband Bruce and our three young children in 1987, putting down lasting roots. Two of my adult children and their families live here. Five generations of my family have called “The Jewel of Pierce County” home.

My Dad, Ron Russo, inspired me to serve my community by his extraordinary example of  tireless devotion to Fircrest. Through his membership in the Kiwanis Club his dream of building the Park Pavilion was realized. He wanted a place to gather like he remembered in his youth. Bringing families and friends together

to enjoy our beautiful park, music and entertainment, celebrations, and so much more. It stands as a testament to how you can make a difference if you have a

vision and heart. He instilled in me to "leave things and people better than you found them".

I am running for a seat on the Fircrest City Council to preserve and continue what makes our hometown so special. Using my years of professional experience, I will protect the City's financial stability. I will support our Police, Fire, Parks & Recreation and Public Works Departments. I will encourage the Fircrest spirit of volunteerism and kind and caring relationships with our neighbors. This is my passion, and my heart - the legacy for future generations.

I am an Executive Team Member for Fircrest Fun Days and the Centennial Parade and a Park's Department volunteer for all the Fircrest Annual Community Events.

I was a Tree Designer and Volunteer for the Festival of Trees benefitting Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and belonged to the Lisa Anne Viafore Orthopedic Guild. One of my favorite projects was our "Smile Bags". We procured funding and put together over 2000 activity bags that were given to children that were patients at Mary Bridge Hospital & Health Center. Voices of Support

"I’m proud to endorse Bonnie Viafore because of her unwavering dedication to Fircrest and the legacy of both our fathers, who gave so much to this city. Her commitment to community service is deeply rooted and truly inspiring."   Diane Murphy Forsberg

"I am pleased to endorse Bonnie in her candidacy for Fircrest City Council. I have known Bonnie for six years and in that time I have observed her serving the Fircrest community with dedication and passion. She not only personally serves but she recruits others to join in the project or task. Through her leadership in the Fircrest Kiwanis or volunteering in community events, Bonnie is an individual who demonstrates her commitment to leadership through her engagement in serving. She will be a strong and dedicated council member to serve our community."  Ken Schmidtke

"I became acquainted with Bonnie during the years of having my tea shoppe on Regents Blvd. It didn't take long to realize how passionate she is about Fircrest and be impressed by her endless energy for city volunteerism, participation, and general relationship building. Her business acumen and common sense seal the deal for what will make her a solid City of Fircrest council member. She has my vote!"  Cheryl Burlingame

"My husband and I have lived in Fircrest for more than a decade and have known Bonnie Viafore as a neighbor and friend during that time. I support Bonnie’s candidacy for Fircrest City Council because I have seen on multiple occasions her love for Fircrest. She is a devoted volunteer, not just with Kiwanis but also with Fircrest Parks and Recreation and other groups in town. She finishes what she commits to, and does it thoroughly and with good humor. She is kind, creative, and caring - but also decisive and direct, and the kind of person who will serve our community well."  Shirley Schultz

"I was so excited when Bonnie told me she was going to run for Fircrest City Council. The most impressive and honest statement I can make is when you talk to her about Fircrest and her long history in our town it’s not about how things were done in the past. She talks about the future and the many ways to help the community become engaged with each other and the hope she feels for coming generations. Bonnie’s has my vote for city council member."   MaryEllen Atkinson

"It is with great enthusiasm that I endorse Bonnie Viafore for Fircrest City Council. I have had the privilege of working with Bonnie over many years in a variety of roles—as a volunteer, teacher, and finance committee lead—and I can say without hesitation that she brings unmatched dedication, skill, and heart to everything she does. Bonnie is exceptionally talented in managing the financial aspects of any organization. Her ability to navigate complex budgets with clarity and accountability is a rare strength, and one that will serve the Fircrest community well. Beyond her financial acumen, Bonnie is a committed team player who listens carefully and collaborates effectively. Bonnie consistently leads with integrity and transparency.  She would bring a clear vision for what’s best for Fircrest. I would gladly work with Bonnie again in any capacity, and I know Fircrest will be stronger with her on the City Council. She has my full support."   Beth O'Reilly, Principal St. Charles Borromeo
